WHO IS AIRDROP?
Vertigo is excited to announce an exclusive partnership with UK bike brand Airdrop Bikes. If you aren't aware of them, we don't blame you, they are one of many smaller fish amongst a sea of giants, but they are doing great things and be sure to check out their website HERE
We have been dealing with them for a couple seasons now and Pang has ridden their full suspension Edit V2 bike and now the new Edit V3 which he absolutely loves. We like their philosophy, it sits well with us, they build bikes that “just work”. Built to the latest developments in geometry to be ridden hard and last in the nastiest UK conditions. Something we can back up. The proof is in the pudding and Vertigo boss Pang has had nothing but trouble free riding for over a year on his Edit V2, no creaks, no squeaks, no broken parts, no worn bearings and that looks to continue with his Edit V3.
These bikes aren't about getting them out of a box with a stock spec picked by someone in an office, these are built to the specs that you want as a rider. They also know that a lot of riders want to build their own bikes, and they do everything they can to support that. Frame only? No problem. You want headset and forks with that? No problem.
CAN I JUST BUY ONE DIRECT FROM AIRDROP?
Airdrop does not supply direct to New Zealand. That is where we come in, this way we can offer you direct support for you and you’re new Airdrop. We will carry spares and can help you with any problems (not that you will have any).
HOW MUCH ARE THEY?
We will be offering frame only options and also offer custom builds to what spec you want. Edit V3 frames will be $2800 including shock, rear axle and seat clamp. Custom builds will obviously vary.
WILL MY OLD PARTS FIT IF I BUY A FRAME?
The Edit V3 frame and Bitmap frame use the latest industry standards:
148mm Boost rear hub spacing
A 73mm threaded Bottom Bracket, which means you can run any threaded BSA30 bottom bracket on the market. Just make sure it's the 73mm length version.
A tapered head tube that accept inset headsets. They're sometimes referred to as semi-integrated headsets. For the Edit V3 or a Bitmap you'll need a ZS44mm top and ZS56mm bottom.
IS THERE A WARRANTY?
Airdrop frames are covered by a TWO YEAR warranty that entitles the original purchaser to a repair or replacement in the event of a manufacturing defect. This covers faulty materials and workmanship, but not normal wear and tear or accidental damage.
I NEED AN AIRDROP IN MY LIFE!
HOW DO I GET ONE?
As they are a small company, they don't have a warehouse full of stock, so you might need to have a bit of patience to get what you want. But it will be worth the wait! We will carry some frames and build kits in stock, and we will work with you to help work out your dream build and make it a fun, enjoyable process. We want to be part of the fun journey that is building your dream bike. We will be as excited as you will be!
